June 10-11, 2023:
Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation
We kicked off the year with the cardiopulmonary rehabilitation workshop held at Cagayan Valley Medical Center last June 10-11, 2023.It was organized by the Philippine Academy of Rehabilitation Medicine (PARM) North Treasurer, Dr. Estelita Michelle Jacinto. The speakers were nonetheless members of PARM North, Dr. Anna Cecilia Tiangco and Dr. Kristopher De Leon. Medical doctors and allied health professionals participated in the activity. They were provided Continuing Professional Development (CPD) units by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC).
June 17, 2023:
Rehab Ortho Rheuma
We had our first Rehab Ortho Rheuma (ROR) activity entitled “CME Connect”, attended by members of PARM North, Philippine Rheumatology Association (PRA), and Philippine Orthopedic Association (POA) last June 17, 2023 at Quest Hotel, Clark, Pampanga. On June 18, 2023, we conducted our wellness activities, namely ROR Coffee Ride: Mobility Unlocked which was led by Dr. Cicel Reyna, followed by the Zumba Party. August 5, 2023:
Botulinum Toxin Workshop
The PARM North Chapter conducted its scientific conference last August 5, 2023 at Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center, Baguio City entitled “Empowering Movement: Botulinum Toxin Workshop for Spasticity Management”, with Dr. Monalisa Dungca as our speaker and facilitator. We were able to administer botulinum toxin injection to three patients with stroke and cerebral palsy. It was followed by a fellowship night at the Newtown Hotel.
September 29, 2023:
Text Neck Syndrome
We conducted a very lively webinar entitled “Cervical Radiculopathy in Text Neck Syndrome” last September 29, 2023 with Dr. Andrew Bautista as our speaker and Dr. Teresa Ting Tan as the moderator. It was attended by medical doctors from various specialties.
November 24, 2023:
Bagong Serbisyo Fair Workshop
As a PARM North Luzon Chapter advocacy, Dr. Mitchelle Gabuya, Dr. Estelita Michelle Jacinto, and Dr. Ma. Corazon Acosta participated in the “Bagong Serbisyo Fair” in Ilagan, Isabela last November 24, 2023. They were able to distribute basic and intermediate wheelchairs, and assistive devices to patients.
